The Resonance of Ju

@T-PopGossip_TH Thread: Who is ‘Ju’? 1/4 Net Siraphop just dropped a teaser for his new single “Ju.” Fans are spiraling. Net has never used a specific name in a song title before. 2/4 Some say it’s a nickname for a secret girlfriend. Others think it’s a tribute to a pet. 3/4 But wait—look at the lyrics leaked in the teaser: “The ink on the page was yours, but the melody was always mine.” 4/4 Is Net dating a writer? Let the investigation begin! #NetSiraphop #Ju #NetJJ?

JJ sat in his dimly lit studio, the blue light of his laptop reflecting off his glasses. On the screen was the final draft of his new manuscript, written under the pen name J. Phorn. To the world, J. Phorn was a literary sensation, a man whose words could break hearts and mend them in the span of a chapter. To the world, JJ was just the quiet friend who occasionally appeared in the background of Keng or Ohm’s Instagram stories, looking slightly uncomfortable but supportive.

His phone buzzed. A notification from Twitter. Then another. Then a flurry of Line messages.

He ignored them, his eyes fixed on the word "Ju" trending at number one. It was a name he hadn't heard spoken aloud in years. It was the name Net used to whisper against his neck in the back row of the school library, a private shorthand for a love that felt too big for their small town.

The song dropped at 6:00 PM. JJ listened to it once. Then he closed his eyes and listened again.

Net’s voice was different this time. Gone was the polished, professional sheen of a pop star. Instead, there was a raw, trembling honesty. The lyrics spoke of high school hallways, shared headphones, and the devastating silence of a breakup that had no villains—only two boys who loved each other enough to let go so they could grow.

“I watched you write the world, while I tried to sing it to life. I’m sorry I took so long to say your name out loud, Ju.”

JJ’s breath hitched. He wasn't prepared for what came next.

@NetSiraphop_Official [Image: A grainy, physical photograph. Two teenage boys in high school uniforms. One (Net) has his arm hooked around the other’s (JJ) neck, grinning widely. The other boy is looking at Net with an expression of pure, unfiltered adoration, a notebook tucked under his arm.] Caption: We were seventeen and terrified. We thought the world wasn't ready for us, so we hid. I’ve spent years turning our memories into music, but I never gave you the credit you deserved. This song, and everything I am, belongs to you. To the boy with the pen, my Ju. @JJ_Radchapon

JJ’s phone didn't just buzz; it exploded. But he didn't see the comments. He didn't see Keng’s "WHAT?!" in the group chat or Namping’s string of heart emojis.

He only saw the shadow moving outside his front door.

A frantic, heavy knocking echoed through the apartment. JJ stood up, his legs feeling like lead, and opened the door.

Net stood there, still wearing the clothes from his promotional interview earlier that day. His hair was a mess, and his eyes were wide, rimmed with a redness that suggested he hadn't slept—or he’d been crying.

"JJ," Net breathed, his voice cracking. "I... I didn't mean for it to happen like that. The label, the timing—I just wanted to be honest for once, but I realized the second I hit post that I didn't ask you. I didn't ask if you were ready to be seen."

JJ leaned against the doorframe, his heart hammering against his ribs. "You tagged my personal account, Net. Not my pen name. My actual face."

"I know," Net stepped into the entryway, closing the door behind him. The air between them was thick with the weight of a decade. "I panicked. I’ve spent ten years being 'Net Siraphop' the singer. I just wanted to be Net, the guy who loves JJ. I got selfish."

"Selfish?" JJ let out a short, breathless laugh. "Net, people are currently trying to figure out if the 'J. Phorn' who wrote The Silent Verse is the same JJ in your photo. My two worlds are colliding in real-time."

Net reached out, his fingers hovering near JJ’s wrist before he pulled back, hesitant. "Are you angry? If you want, I can take it down. I can issue a statement saying it was a misunderstanding, a childhood friend tribute—"

"Don't lie," JJ interrupted, his voice softening. "You’ve spent your whole career being careful, Net. Don't start lying now just to protect me."

"I’ve always wanted to protect you," Net said, his voice dropping to a whisper. "That’s why we broke up, isn't it? We thought we were protecting each other’s futures. But I look back at that photo, and I realize I was never as happy as I was in that library with you. I’m tired of being curated."

JJ looked at him—really looked at him. The superstar facade was gone. This was the boy who used to hum melodies into JJ’s ear while he wrote poetry.

"It was a good song," JJ admitted, a small, sad smile tugging at his lips. "The bridge... it was the exact melody you hummed the day we decided to go to different universities."

Net’s eyes welled up. "You remembered."

"I’m a writer, Net. I remember everything. That’s my job," JJ stepped forward, finally closing the gap. He reached out and grabbed the lapels of Net’s jacket. "Why now? After all these years?"

"Because I saw you at Kim’s birthday party last month," Net confessed, his hands finally finding JJ’s waist. "You were standing there, laughing with Latte and Ohm, and you looked so comfortable being 'just a friend.' And I hated it. I hated that I had to stand across the room and pretend you were just someone I went to school with. I realized that if I didn't say something now, I’d spend the rest of my life writing songs about a ghost."

JJ leaned his forehead against Net’s. "You’re an idiot. You could have just called me."

"I did call you," Net whispered. "Ten years ago. You didn't pick up."

"I was crying too hard to speak," JJ admitted, the honesty sharp and painful.

They stood there for a long moment, the silence of the apartment a stark contrast to the digital firestorm raging outside. The tension broke not with a kiss, but with the sound of several car doors slamming shut outside.

"Oh no," JJ groaned, pulling back. "Tell me they didn't."

Net looked toward the window. "Is that Keng’s car?"

A moment later, the doorbell rang. It didn't ring once; it was a rhythmic, aggressive pounding.

"OPEN UP! WE KNOW YOU’RE IN THERE!" Keng’s voice boomed through the wood.

"I brought snacks because this is going to take all night!" That was definitely Latte.

JJ sighed, rubbing his temples. "We are never going to hear the end of this."

"Let them in," Net said, his expression turning resolute. "We’ve been hiding for ten years. I think we can handle an interrogation from our best friends."

JJ opened the door to a sea of familiar, shocked faces. Keng, Jimmy, Latte, Namping, Ohm, and Kim filed in like a tactical unit, immediately colonizing JJ’s living room.

"Explain," Keng said, crossing his arms and dropping onto the sofa. "From the beginning. The song. The photo. The fact that my best friend is apparently a secret Muse for the nation’s biggest heartthrob."

"And the fact that JJ is 'Ju'?" Ohm added, pointing at his phone. "Do you know how many people are tagging me asking if I knew? My DMs are a war zone!"

Jimmy looked between Net and JJ, his analytical gaze softening. "You two were together in high school? Like, together together?"

Net sat down on the arm of the chair JJ was occupying, his hand resting firmly on JJ’s shoulder. "Yeah. We were. We dated for two years. We broke up two weeks before graduation."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Namping asked quietly, his usual playful energy replaced by genuine hurt. "We were right there."

JJ took a breath, feeling the weight of the secret finally lifting. "We were scared. Net was already getting scouted by agencies. I was starting to get my first stories published. We thought if people knew, it would ruin everything. We thought we were being mature by choosing our careers."

"You were kids," Kim said, shaking his head. "You were kids trying to carry an adult burden."

"So," Latte leaned forward, eyes gleaming. "What now? Is this a 'we’re back together' post, or a 'thanks for the memories' post? Because the internet needs to know if they should be celebrating or mourning."

JJ looked up at Net. The singer was looking back at him, his eyes asking a silent question. Is this okay? Are we doing this?

JJ reached up and covered Net’s hand with his own. "I think," JJ said to the group, "that I’m tired of being just a background character in my own life."

[Group Chat: The Boys (7)]

Keng: I’m still processing that I’ve been third-wheeling a decade-long star-crossed lovers plot. Ohm: I feel like I should charge a fee for all the questions I’m answering. Latte: Shut up, Ohm. Look at Net’s new post. Jimmy: Oh, he went there. Namping: 🥹❤️ Kim: About time.

Caption: Ten years later, and I finally got the ending right. Thank you for waiting for me, Ju. And thank you to our friends for not killing us tonight. It’s always been him. It will always be him. #NetJJ #Ju

Comments:

@J_Phorn_Official: (Verified Author) I usually prefer to stay behind the pages, but for you, I don't mind the spotlight. Just don't expect me to write a song back. One of us has to keep the rhythm.

@Keng_Official: Finally. Also, Net owes us all dinner for the next year. @Latte_Real: ^ Seconded. @Net_Fanbase: I’M CRYING. THE AUTHOR AND THE SINGER. IT’S LITERALLY A SCRIPT. @BookWarm_TH: WAIT—J. PHORN IS JJ?! THE LITERARY WORLD IS SHAKING.

JJ put his phone face down on the coffee table. The noise was still there—the notifications, the trends, the chaos—but for the first time in his life, it didn't feel like a threat.

Net leaned over, pressing a soft kiss to JJ’s temple. "You okay, Ju?"

"I'm good," JJ whispered, leaning into the warmth. "But if you ever post a photo of me in my glasses and pajamas, I’m breaking up with you again."

Net laughed, a bright, clear sound that echoed through the room. "Deal. But I can't promise I won't write another album about you."

"Please do," JJ smiled, closing his eyes. "I’ve always liked your lyrics best."
