Collateral Promises

The penthouse suite in Geneva had smelled of rain, bergamot, and cedar before the disaster struck.

For five years, Net Siraphop Manithikhun had maintained a flawless boundary between his executive presence and his nature as an Alpha. Beside him, JJ Radchapon Phornpinit had moved like a synchronized shadow—anticipating agendas, balancing logistics, and ignoring the relentless industry gossip that suggested no CEO and assistant could ever share that kind of unyielding, electric harmony without sharing a bed.

Then came the closing dinner with the European consortium. Someone at the banqueting table had slipped an unregulated synthetic aphrodisiac into JJ’s glass, intended as a sleazy trap or an insidious leverage maneuver. By the time Net escorted JJ back upstairs, the drug had shattered the younger man's suppressants, forcing a sudden, violently potent Omega heat.

"Siraphop... please, it hurts," JJ had wept against the doorframe, claws digging into Net’s lapels, slick soaking through tailored slacks, the sweet, intoxicating scent of white lilies and raw heat flooding the cold air.

Net’s control, steel-forged over thirty-two years, broke in half. The dense, overwhelming musk of an Alpha forced into rut answered like thunder.

"I’ve got you," Net had rasped, shedding his jacket and lifting JJ cleanly into his arms. "I'm right here."

On the vast hotel bed, professionalism ceased to exist. JJ was whimpering, thighs falling open eagerly, his tight suit trousers stripped away to reveal his soaked heat. Net’s thick, veined cock pressed against JJ’s dripping entrance, slick coating his heavy shaft as JJ arched up, begging with choked little cries.

"Net... please, fill me, make it stop hurting—"

Net drove inward with a low, primal groan, his hips pinning JJ down into the mattress. JJ screamed into Net’s neck, nails raking Net’s broad back as the Alpha stretched him completely open. The friction was agonizingly hot, wet and squelching with every deep, relentless thrust. Net pounded into him with ruthless devotion, kissing away JJ's tears, sucking bruises into the junction of JJ's throat and shoulder. When JJ’s inner walls began to clench around him in a blinding orgasm, Net buried himself to the hilt. The base of his shaft swelled, his knot locking into JJ’s desperate, clamping channel. Net roared against JJ’s skin as he pumped wave after wave of boiling seed deep into the Omega's womb, binding their biological rhythms together in an inescapable biological covenant.

They had stayed locked away in that suite for seven days. Under the guise of finalizing restructuring contracts, Net tended to JJ’s fever, feeding him, bathing him, and letting their spent ruts drift into quiet, devastating tenderness.

When it cleared, reality returned.

"We forget this," JJ had whispered, his hands trembling around a cup of black tea, eyes hollow with dread. "If the board hears... if the industry thinks I slept my way through our contracts... everything we built is over. Please, Mr. Manithikhun. Let's pretend it never happened."

Net had hated every syllable, but he loved JJ enough to let the younger man breathe. "We will revisit this," Net had replied softly. "I won't let you hide forever."

Three days after returning to Bangkok, Net had broken his own promise of patience. He had pulled JJ into his private office, locked the doors, and backed him against the mahogany desk until JJ confessed that he had loved Net for years. They reached a truce: an exclusive, quiet relationship. No announcements until JJ felt secure.

Their quiet plan lasted precisely two weeks.

"JJ, you look like a ghost," Kim murmured, hovering over the reception desk with a clipboard pressed to his chest. "Did you skip breakfast again?"

"I'm fine, Kim," JJ answered, though his hand shook as he sorted the morning briefs. His stomach had been churning in violent waves since dawn. "Just a minor migraine."

"It's not just a migraine," Ohm said, crossing his arms from the doorway of the administrative pool. "Namping said you could barely hold your tea during yesterday's budget review. You're completely pale."

"I have the Q3 presentation ready for Net," JJ insisted, his voice tight. "I can't take time off today."

Down the hall, Keng and Latte stepped out of the elevators, laughing over a golf tournament, flanking Net’s parents. Net’s mother, dressed in impeccably tailored jade silk, paused when she caught sight of JJ. Her fondness for her son’s assistant was well-known; she treated JJ like family, often sending home-cooked dishes to the office.

"Radchapon, dear," she called out warmly, stepping forward. "Are you taking care of yourself? Your face is terribly drawn."

"Madam Manithikhun," JJ offered a polite bow, but as he bent his head, a wave of cold vertigo crashed behind his eyes. The floor tilted sideways. "I'm... perfectly..."

The papers in his hands scattered across the polished marble.

"JJ!" Ohm lunged forward.

JJ’s knees gave out entirely. His vision blackened, and he collapsed toward the floor before his friends caught his limp shoulders.

Pandemonium erupted on the executive floor. Net’s father barked orders for building security, while his mother knelt directly on the marble, cradling JJ's head. "Call the clinic! Get the doctor up here right now—no, carry him down! Ohm, help him!"

Net had been off-site, wrapping a meeting with municipal regulators, when his phone buzzed with an urgent summons from his mother. He abandoned the car with his chauffeur, running through the lobby and straight to the third-floor private medical clinic.

When the glass doors parted, Net was greeted by an anxious crowd. JJ’s friends—Ohm, Kim, and Namping—sat clustered together in the lounge, their faces etched with worry. Latte and Keng stood near the window, quietly discussing the schedule, while Net’s parents paced the polished floor.

"Mother," Net said, his breath slightly elevated, commanding the room’s frantic energy into stillness. "What happened?"

"He fainted dead away, Net," she said, clutching his forearm. "He hasn’t been eating properly, and he collapsed in front of everyone. The clinic chief took him into the inner room twenty minutes ago."

Before Net could push past her toward the examination room, the door clicked open. Dr. Virote, the company's senior physician, stepped out, pulling down his mask. He held a medical tablet and looked visibly unsettled.

"Mr. Manithikhun," the doctor addressed Net, glancing briefly at the parents and friends gathered in the lounge. "Radchapon has regained consciousness. His blood pressure dropped severely due to exhaustion, dehydration, and rapid hormonal fluctuation."

"Hormonal fluctuation?" Net repeated, his Alpha scent involuntarily hardening the air. "Explain."

Dr. Virote cleared his throat, choosing his words carefully. "Radchapon is an Omega. Given the physiological markers in his bloodwork, his body has recently undergone an intense biological event. His collapse is a standard, acute stress reaction. He is pregnant."

The room went dead silent.

"Pregnant?" Kim gasped, his jaw dropping.

"What?" Ohm blurted, stepping forward. "JJ doesn't—JJ isn't seeing anyone! He lives at this company!"

Latte and Keng exchanged bewildered glances. Net’s father frowned deeply, while his mother’s eyes darted between the doctor and her son with sharp, sudden intuition.

Net stood motionless. His heart thudded against his ribs like a war drum, but his outward expression remained impeccably still. "How far along?"

"Three weeks, almost four," Dr. Virote replied. "Conception would have occurred roughly during the last week of your European tour."

The timeline struck the lounge like a physical blow.

Net’s mother turned fully toward her son, her gaze piercing through his stoic composure. "Net. What happened in Geneva?"

Net exhaled slowly. He did not shrink. He did not look away. He carried the full weight of his authority, softening only with the absolute conviction he felt for the person lying in the room behind those doors.

"There was an incident on the trip," Net stated, his voice calm, resolute, and unyielding. "JJ's drink was tampered with by a third party. Suppressants failed. I took care of him."

Ohm let out a choked sound, covering his mouth.

"Net," his father said, tone stern but cautious. "Are you telling us—"

"The relationship between JJ and myself has changed," Net cut in firmly, making sure every person in the corridor heard him clearly. "We agreed to keep it private until he was ready to step into the public eye. The pregnancy was not planned this early, but the child is mine. I intend to take absolute, unconditional responsibility. I ask all of you to respect his peace right now."

Before anyone could protest or interrogate him further, Net turned on his heel, pushed open the clinic door, and walked inside.

The room was cool and dim, shaded from the afternoon sun. JJ lay on the hospital bed, an IV line taped to the back of his hand. His face was turned toward the window, tears quietly soaking his pillowcase. He had heard the voices outside. He knew his secret, his dignity, and his carefully guarded composure were stripped away.

"JJ," Net murmured, closing the door behind him and locking it with a quiet click.

JJ flinched, pulling the thin blanket higher over his chest. "They all know," he whispered, his voice splintered and hoarse. "Your parents... Ohm, Kim... everyone knows I slept with my boss. They’ll say I used you. They’ll say my entire career was a lie."

Net crossed the room in two strides. He sat on the edge of the mattress, reaching out with broad, warm hands to cup JJ’s trembling face, forcing the Omega to look at him. Net’s thumbs gently swept away the wet tracks on JJ’s cheeks.

"Look at me," Net ordered softly. "Radchapon, look at me."

JJ sniffled, his red-rimmed eyes meeting Net's dark, unwavering gaze.

"This is not how I wanted this to happen," Net said, his voice laced with an ache that broke through his executive armor. "I wanted to take you to dinner. I wanted to court you properly, buy you flowers, take you out without contracts between us, and give you time to feel safe. I didn't want you exposed like this. But you are not a scandal, and this child is not an embarrassment."

"Net... the board—"

"I don't give a damn about the board," Net said fiercely, pressing his forehead against JJ’s. "I run this company. But more importantly, I love you. I have loved you for longer than either of us cared to admit. You carried this firm on your back for five years, and now you let me carry you. Do you understand me?"

JJ’s breath hitched. A fresh wave of tears spilled over his lashes, but the tight, suffocating dread in his chest began to fracture under the warmth of Net’s pheromones—grounding, safe, entirely protective.

"You really... you really want this?" JJ whispered, his fingers curling weakly around Net’s wrist.

"More than anything," Net promised, leaning down to press a reverent, lingering kiss against JJ’s lips. "You rest now. Let me handle the room outside."

JJ nodded slowly, his shoulders finally dropping as the exhaustion pulled him under. Net smoothed his hair, waited until JJ’s breathing leveled into a peaceful sleep, and then turned back toward the door.

When Net stepped out, the gathering in the waiting lounge had not moved. If anything, the tension had deepened.

Net’s mother stepped forward first, crossing her arms. "Net Siraphop. You owe your father and me a proper conversation."

"I do," Net agreed calmly. He walked over to where his parents stood, his posture straight, unmovable, and entirely unapologetic. He looked at his parents, then turned his gaze slightly to encompass JJ’s wide-eyed friends and his own companions.

"JJ is asleep," Net announced quietly. "He needs fluids and rest. When he wakes, I am taking him home to my residence."

"Net," his mother began, her expression softening despite herself, noticing the dark circles under her son's eyes and the fiercely guarded edge to his scent. "You're moving very fast."

"I'm five years late, Mother," Net answered without hesitation. He reached into his coat pocket, retrieved his phone, and handed his afternoon calendar to Keng. "Cancel my remaining meetings for the rest of the week."

Then, turning fully back to his mother and father, Net tilted his chin up with absolute, undeniable pride.

"I won't have anyone whispering about him in these corridors, and I won't allow anyone to question his place beside me," Net stated, his voice ringing with absolute finality. "Radchapon is carrying my heir. And before this month ends, he will be your son-in-law."

Silence washed over the room once more, not in shock, but in quiet, stunned surrender.

Across the lounge, Ohm let out a breath that sounded like half a laugh, half a sob of relief, while Kim smiled through sudden tears. Net’s mother looked at the closed door of the clinic, then back at her son, the corner of her lips curving into a gentle, approving smile.

The rumors had chased them through every boardroom, hallway, and gala for years.

Net looked at the clinic door one last time, his heart steady, knowing that from this moment on, none of it was rumor anymore.
